Everything You Need to Know about the Number 11 (Almost)
Today I’m going to share some of my experiences with my numbers to give you more of a feel for numerology. I’m going to talk about my Direction number, which is 11. I hope you will calculate your Direction number (see my post, “Do You Like Your Job?” for how to do this) and comment on the ways it shows up in your life.
Your Direction number influences the types of activities that make you happy, and it determines the career you find most fulfilling. Eleven is one of the Master Numbers (11, 22, 33, 44, 55, etc.). Master numbers contain the qualities of the single digits they are composed of, plus the qualities of the single-digit number they reduce to (although they are not reduced), and they have more power and intensity than other numbers because they are made up of twin double digits.
I will now reveal some important qualities of the number, along with the ways they have shown up in my life.
Number 11s are mystical. Mysticism can be expressed through spiritual or scientific pursuits. You may want to refer to the number interpretations in my post, “Do You Like Your Job?” to see what I mean.
Even as a pre-schooler, I was interested in spiritual things. My mother was Protestant and my father was Catholic, although neither went to church (they sent my sister and me to church with the neighbors), so I had the opportunity to learn about different religions, and I asked a lot of questions. Some of the answers didn’t make sense to me; for instance, both Catholics and Protestants said if you weren’t one of them you wouldn’t get into heaven. How did God feel about this? Nobody seemed to know. Heaven seemed like a dull place to me anyway (sitting around playing harps all day), but I didn’t want to go to hell, either, which only created more questions in my mind.
Connection with spiritual guidance has always been important to me. As part of my metaphysical training, I learned how to consult directly with my spiritual advisors in meditation. My guides assisted me during my lecture tours, giving me just the right words for each group I was speaking to. Spiritual guidance was with me as a child, too. I was 5 years old when World War II began. I always knew we would win, although I never talked about it. Nobody asked. I could sense a soldier, a sailor, and a marine standing guard at the foot of my bed at night. I felt safe.
Number 11s are dreamers. They just naturally think of new ways to do things and combine ideas in unusual ways. In my mind, anything is possible. My father used to read the funnies to me when I was little. I loved the comic strip, “Pogo,” and in one of my Pogo Possum comic books there was a story about how he wanted to be invisible; something I wanted to be, too. Pogo had a ceremony for this, which consisted of walking around in a circle with his arms extended, twiddling his fingers and saying “Pozza mozza wobble-de-day.” I don’t know how many times I did it before I realized it was never going to work.
Since 11 people are independent and unconventional, they sometimes have challenges fitting in. Growing up in the ‘50s, an era in which women were still expected to marry young and devote the rest of their lives to family, I was a misfit. Marriage was not on my agenda. I wanted the freedom to experience life on my own before settling down (if ever).
My parents considered my interests (art, music, and metaphysics) highly impractical. They experienced the Great Depression, and I can still hear them say, “Get a steady job and stick with it till retirement. You’ll be lucky if it’s a job you like.” Consequently, along with my college preparatory program in high school, I took typing and shorthand, just in case. I graduated from college with a degree in Fine Arts, got married, and worked as a secretary, putting my passions on the back burner, as many women did back then. It was hard to buck the system, and we did the best we could, but we didn’t give up.
Part of my challenge was that the resources I needed weren’t available at that time. I was fascinated by human potential, and consumed by the desire to learn everything I could about it. I explored psychic awareness and learned a great deal, but it was fourteen years before the professional training and practical application I was seeking arrived in my life. I wanted to major in psychology in college, but the field at that time seemed to be focused only on what was wrong with people. I was looking for more. Thirty years later, I was able to earn a Master’s degree in soul-centered psychology from a university whose psychology program had evolved to include the spirit. My dream had finally come true, and I could combine my metaphysical and psychological training in the counseling practice I had established. Eventually, society catches up with 11s.
The number 11 puts you in the spotlight because of its pioneering influence. As much as I prefer not to be, I am thrust into the limelight from time to time; for example, as a traveling speaker during one point in my life, not only speaking to audiences, but being interviewed in the media. Once I’m in the spotlight, however, I really enjoy it. I remember waiting to be a guest on a radio show in Washington, D.C. along with a colleague of mine. I felt subdued and kind of tired, but I knew I would come to life as soon as I was seated in front of the microphone. And sure enough, it happened. I could hardly stop talking.
Sometimes people who have Master Numbers decide to take a break from the intensity by stepping it down a notch. This is done by reverting to the single-digit vibration of the number, in my case, the 2. At one period in my life I spent almost ten years in that vibration. I had retired from my psychotherapy practice and re-entered the work force. I started out as a secretary, then changed careers and became a corporate trainer, and then an editor. Life was good, but I felt empty inside. One day I realized I had been laid off five times in that ten-year period, and figured spirit was trying to tell me something. I made the commitment then to follow my purpose without hesitation. Life is an adventure again, and I am excited to be living my purpose.
Read the post I mentioned, then calculate your Direction number and tell us how it affects your life. I’d love to hear about your experiences, and I’m sure other readers would, too. Or go to www.lulu.com, enter the title of my book in the search bar (You Were Born to Succeed) and download my book, then tell us what your Chaldean Soul Chart has revealed. You will be amazed.

The Power of Eleven – World-Changing Events. Coincidences?
Today is 11/11, a day of powerful and mystical energy. Many people have been noticing the number 11 in their lives lately. They seem to look at the clock exactly at 11:11, they see 11 in its different expressions (11, 111, 1111, etc.) in addresses, on signs, license plates, in change back from purchases, you name it.
Eleven is a Master Number and carries with its power the quality of responsibility. It is the number of mystical revelation. It is the number of awakening and is a gateway of manifestation. It means you have opportunities to manifest change in your life, that the energy is right for accomplishing long-awaited goals, for breakthroughs, for enlightenment. It is a time of activation, to wake up to opportunity.
The number 11 is encoded with the energy of remembrance. It has the power to help you recall that you are a Master of Light, that this is the time to fulfill your potential at a higher level, perhaps beyond your comfort zone. The number 11 prompts you to look around and sharpen your perception – to recognize what’s real and what is illusion.
As someone who has 11 in her Chaldean Soul Chart, I know the power of this number. It is my Direction (Birth Date) number and means that my career has to be inspiring to me because I came to inspire others. Elevens are focused on spirit. However, many of us are unfulfilled by religion and seek answers elsewhere. I’ve been fascinated by the occult all my life. For years I read about occult practices like palmistry, numerology, astrology, and tarot, and psychics like Edgar Cayce. I learned a great deal about inner awareness, and I longed to find a way to learn how to develop my own psychic awareness, but I didn’t want the sensationalism with it that I sometimes saw. At last, I found a school that taught me how to develop my psychic awareness and apply it in practical ways in everyday life. This was the beginning of my spiritual development, and I was ecstatic.
I could go on about my experiences, and I will in another posting, but this one is about the number 11, not about me. However, it’s given me an idea. I will tell you more about what it’s like to have an 11 in my life, and I’d love to hear what your experience is with your numbers. If you don’t have a Chaldean Soul Chart for yourself, just follow the directions in my posts about how to find your Purpose number (The Big Question) and your Direction number (Do You Love Your Job?) or go to www.lulu.com, type You Were Born to Succeed in the search bar and download my book, which will show you a step-by-step, easy-to-follow process for creating your complete Chaldean Soul Chart. I would love to have your comments on how your numbers are showing up in your life. It would be fun and enlightening for all.
The number 11 is in the forefront of the World Trade Center events of 2001. Is it coincidence? You decide.
9/11 = 9 + 1 + 1 = 11. Each building had 110 stories. The zero adds intensity to the 11.
After 9/11, there are 111 days left in the year. 9/11 is the 254th day of the year: 2 + 5+ 4 = 11.
The twin towers, standing side by side, looked like the number 11.
The first plane to hit the towers was Flight 11. There were 92 passengers onboard. 9 + 2 = 11. There were 11 crew members onboard.
Flight 77 (also a Master Number) had 65 onboard. 6 + 5 = 11.
119 = the Area Code for Iran/Iraq. 911–119 are opposites – enemies?
Afghanistan = 11 letters
The Pentagon = 11 letters
Ramzi Yousef (convicted of orchestrating the attack on the World Trade Center) = 11 letters
George W. Bush = 11 letters
The total number of victims on all the hijacked planes that day was 254: 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
The Madrid bombing happened on 3/11/2004: 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11, 911 days after the Twin Towers event.
The most important symbol of the United States, after the Stars and Stripes, is the Eagle. This verse is from the Koran:
“For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah. While some of the people trembled in despair, still more rejoiced: for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace.”
When the forces of 11 become activated on earth, they have the power to change history. Today a worldwide event is taking place in which 1 million people will project peace and transformation to the earth tonight at 11:11 PM Eastern time, and for the next 10 days at the same time. Go to http://www.examiner.com/transitions-grief-in-national/new-reality-transmission-visualizing-a-new-reality-for-humanity-11-min-for-11-days-beg-11-11-10 and read the article on New Reality Transmission. All are welcome to join in this event. How exciting to experience the power of the number 11 and witness the results!
