Psychic Powers

Mention psychic power to most people and you get the message they don’t want to talk about it. Talk about psychic ability and you are likely to be dismissed with a laugh. Google “psychic powers,” “psychic ability,” or “psychic awareness” and you will see hundreds of thousands of results featuring everything from psychic readers to lessons on developing your psychic abilities.
There are almost 50,000 Google global searches per month for the term, “psychic ability.” Even though this is a low number, searches for learning about psychic ability are even lower. Global searches per month for the terms “how to develop psychic ability,” and “how to improve psychic ability” range from fewer than 1,000 to a little more than 1,000 searches a month. The results of these searches range in the hundreds of thousands, meaning that there are hundreds of thousands of resources out there for developing or improving psychic awareness, but few people are taking advantage of these resources. I interpret this as a reflection of the fear most of us still associate with anything psychic.
Let me tell you something – whether you know it or not and whether you like it or not, you are psychic. Everybody is psychic. Being psychic is no big deal. I think the big deal is how we look at psychic ability. Denying your psychic ability is like denying you have a brain.
The Fear Factor
The combination of power mongers since ancient times passing on their rules of entitlement and our dependence on physical science (talk about co-dependence) to tell us what’s right and what’s wrong, has compromised our ability to trust ourselves.
I’m not against physical science. There’s no question that humanity has gained immensely from physical science. And we stand to gain even more as quantum physics reveals more and more about the invisible realities of life.
I’m not worried about power mongers. They are losing their grip on humanity. Just look at world events of the past few years. As we gain the courage to develop our full potential, we will learn to listen to our psychic promptings and direct our lives with confidence.
What Do Psychic Powers Look Like?
Psychic powers have a boundless range of qualities. They can look anything like the little something that tells you where to find a parking place to the dream about a future event that comes true.
The general assumption is that unless you are a professional psychic prophesying dramatic events, you are not psychic. The truth is, the only difference between professional psychics and you is that they receive clear impressions and trust them. It’s their expertise. It’s their calling.
Being a psychic advisor or an intuitive counselor is like any other profession; like being a master carpenter, for instance. Certain people are called to the art and craft of fine carpentry. They love doing custom cabinetry, building furniture; it fulfills them and they are good at it. The rest of us aren’t interested in being a master carpenter, but that doesn’t mean we can’t hang a picture or build a deck on the back of our house.
Psychic ability is more than an art and a skill, however. It’s an inborn quality like your brain waves with the potential to help you live a more fulfilling life. You have the choice to develop your psychic ability. You have the choice to learn which hunches to follow and which not to follow. You have the choice to pay attention to your innate knowledge or to ignore it.
How Do Psychic Powers Serve You?
Your psychic awareness is immensely practical and always there. Remember the last time you were talking to someone who tried to convince you he was just fine when you had the sense that he was upset about something, or the time someone was handing you a line of bull when you knew instinctively she was lying? We were born psychic to help us navigate the tricky tides of life.
I wrote four articles about psychic awareness that will give you more information about your powerful life-enhancing abilities; your gifts of clairsentience, clairvoyance, prophecy, and clairaudience. You can learn a lot about yourself from them. If you’ve already read these pieces, you may want to read them again, maybe with a different point of view this time.
I hope this article helped you see psychic powers as a natural part of who you are. Your thoughts?

Outside Influence in Everyday Life
Outside influence is a common occurrence. It is not possession, but influence by confused entities who are attached to life in the physical realm. Everyone on earth has been influenced by confused, disembodied spirits. Some people go through their entire lives under the influence of confused souls and don’t even realize it.
Outside influence is so subtle we don’t recognize it. Spirit possession, in which a person is taken over by a negative entity, is rare. I know it’s difficult, and even frightening, to imagine oneself being influenced by confused entities, but if you think of discarnate souls as similar to yourself except for the physical body, it might be easier to see the possibilities. We are influenced every day by our friends, co-workers, and families. Influence by discarnate souls is different only in the sense that it comes from the spiritual realm.
How Does Outside Influence Happen?
Outside influence can be the result of attachments from past lives. In other cases, it occurs in traumatic circumstances, such as severe and prolonged illness, hospital stays, including operations, and traumatic accidents. Trauma such as rape can be influenced by discarnate spirits. Addiction is another situation that discarnate spirits attach to.
Discarnate entities can cause serious disruption of relationships, finances, and health. Outside influence can cause illness and accidents, as well. In the news recently was a story about twelve teen-age girls in New York State who are suffering from Touret’s-like symptoms. So far, the cause of these symptoms has not been determined. Environmental pollution and other factors are being explored. Perhaps as we become more open and less frightened of paranormal phenomena, exploration of spirit possession will be considered as a matter of course in situations like this. Freeing discarnate entities heals on many levels.
Mental hospitals are full of discarnate spirits. Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len is a Hawaiian psychologist and master teacher of ho’oponopono, an ancient Hawaiian healing practice. During his time as a staff psychologist at Hawaii State Hospital in a high-security unit housing criminally insane patients, he used ho’oponopono to completely change the energy in the unit. Patients were transformed from violent, shackled men feared by staff members to individuals able to take responsibility for their actions and engage in useful activities. The quality of life for patients and staff shifted from custodial to caring. Family visits took place. Staff turnover decreased markedly.
This happened without Dr. Len’s presence in the ward and without therapy sessions with the men. Ho’oponopono healed the discarnate entities as well as the patients in the ward. You can read about Dr. Len’s fascinating experience in the book “Zero Limits” by Joe Vitale and Dr. Len. You may also want to visit Dr. Len’s website.
What Are the Symptoms of Outside Influence?
Much of our mind chatter is due to influence from discarnate entities. We even have language that expresses the phenomenon of outside influence: “I’m just not myself today,” “I’m not quite here,” “That’s not like me,” “I don’t know what got into me.”
Symptoms of discarnate entity influence can be subtle or obvious. Any negative emotional state that one can’t seem to shake, such as anger, depression, anxiety, feeling unloved, isolated, or inferior can be due to outside influence. Thoughts that are not characteristic, such as thoughts of suicide or doing violence are often from outside influence. Cravings and obsessions can also be due to outside influence.
What Can We Do About Outside Influence?
Thoughts are things. It’s important to be aware of your thoughts and what they are doing to your quality of life. If one spends a great deal of time and energy in a negative state of mind, sooner or later s/he will attract a discarnate entity who is in the same state of mind. Then it becomes necessary to get help to free the unwanted entity. Our thoughts and beliefs are so powerful that they affect everything in our lives. Taking responsibility to change negative habits is the most important thing we can do to reduce the incidence of outside influence.
I encourage everyone to learn more about entity attachment in order to dispel the fear associated with it. If you Google “spirit releasement therapy” you will find good web sites with reliable information shared by professionals in the field. Any source that sensationalizes entity attachment is using it as a means to attract attention and is not a good source of reliable information.
Part of my mission is to show that the physical and spiritual realms are two sides of the same coin, and we live in both realms in every minute of every day. Consciously using all the potential we were born with can be an amazingly exciting adventure. I hope this series has been interesting and enlightening to you.
Live your purpose every day.

Exorcism and Soul Releasement
What is exorcism?
A definition of exorcism by the Free Online Dictionary says exorcism is a ceremony to expel an evil spirit from a person or place. Most Christians know exorcism through the Catholic church as a violent and frightening process. Other Christian religions such as Pentecostals and other charismatic groups also practice exorcism. It has been practiced for centuries worldwide in Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and among tribal cultures.
In the Christian religion, the key concept in exorcism is that an entity who has taken over a person’s body is an evil demon and must be removed forcibly. This creates a battle between the “demon” and the exorcist(s), each side determined to show the other who is right. When the “demon” is finally expelled from the body, it is made to swear an oath or commanded to depart rather than being directed to a specific destination. It seems the person, now freed from influence, is not given any counsel about how to remain free of outside influence in the future.
I have never worked with “demons,” but in counseling a client once, I saw a group of violently angry entities waiting for her, and I knew that if she continued on the path she had been pursuing, she would eventually meet up with them. She had been hurt so deeply by an important person in her life that she was unwilling to forgive, and she was on her way to being taken in by this group.
Soul Releasement
A more recent method of dealing with disembodied spirits involves seeing them as confused souls who need healing rather than as evil entities. While soul releasement was part of my metaphysical training, other psychotherapists, such as Dr. Edith Fiore, developed their own methods of freeing confused souls as a result of surprise encounters during psychotherapy sessions. Dr. Carl A. Wickland was a pioneer in the field of abnormal psychology who practiced soul releasement with much success. Dr. William J. Baldwin called the process he developed spirit releasement therapy. The process goes by different names, depending on who developed it, but it is conducted basically the same way with minor variations.
How It’s Done
I conducted many soul releasement sessions (which I call entity release) in my practice of psychotherapy, so I’ll share with you the way I did it. My first priority was to determine that my client’s disturbing feelings were due to a possession and not something else. Next, I began working with the attached entity, either through a psychic medium or through my spiritual guides. My client was a witness, and not a participant in this part of the process, although I would check with my client from time to time to see how s/he was relating to what was occurring as I worked with the entity.
To begin, I asked the entity to identify itself, tell me why it was with my client, and what it wanted. After clarifying this information, I let the entity know that it had passed on and no longer had a physical body. I let the entity know how it had been negatively influencing the client, and that it was time to go on to the next step in its evolution.
Sometimes the confused souls were unwilling to move on. They may have felt frightened or angry or that the client needed them for protection, so I would address their concerns. After resolving their concerns, I would introduce them to their own spiritual helpers, who were prepared to take them to the light, where they would be lovingly welcomed.
Once it was established that the entity was willing to go, I asked the entity and my client if there was anything they wanted to say before leaving. Usually there was forgiveness given and received, or love and reassurance expressed, then goodbyes, and the entity would go into the light with its spiritual helpers.
The sessions were emotional for the client and the entity; sometimes the attachments were due to misguided love. Whatever the attachment was about, healing always occurred. This was the reward for me. I had the fulfillment of witnessing healing of my client, as well as of the formerly attached entity. The final step was to regroup with my client, coaching him/her on how to stay clear of further attachment and how to alter the habits that had attracted the entity.
The most important thing about conducting this non-confrontational type of soul release is that spirit conducts the session. The facilitator never gets emotionally involved with the entity and is guided by spirit through every step of the process. If an entity becomes difficult, it is important to allow the spirit guides to handle the situation. I remember an entity visiting me several days before a scheduled session.
I noticed him in my house, floating near the ceiling, and at first he seemed threatening. I eventually realized he was afraid of losing his attachment to the physical, as he knew about the impending session, and was checking me out. I did not address the entity directly, but told my spiritual helpers I was willing to allow him to observe me, and I wanted them to see that he did not try to influence me in any way. He left my house after a couple of days, and the session for his release went smoothly and easily.
There is more information about soul releasement at the following web sites: http://www.soulrescuesite.com/spirit-releasement-therapy.htm, http://www.spiritreleasement.org/NSITE/index.html, and http://depossessiontherapy.com.
Soul releasement is perfectly safe when it is conducted in an organized, step-by-step manner. Providing a safe structure gives the confused soul boundaries and the security it needs to engage in the process.
The next, and last, article in this series will be a kind of summary and will talk about the symptoms of influence by a disembodied spirit.

Disembodied Souls, Powerful Influences
It is well understood that everything is energy – even thoughts are energy. Our thoughts, beliefs, and memories create an energy pattern around us, making us magnets for similar thoughts. Every thought we think travels and reverberates into infinity. We live in a psychic soup full of thoughts and influences from everywhere. Many of the thoughts that we take for granted are ours are really impressions we pick up from others.
Paranormal studies in thought projection have shown that a subject can pick up a thought no matter how far away he/she is from the person projecting that thought. It happens in everyday life. When you think of a friend and that friend phones you shortly after your thought, you have picked up your friend’s thought of calling you. It’s natural. Every thought we think influences something or someone. Fortunately, we have the power to choose our influences. Unfortunately, most of us are not aware of this power we have.
We pick up impressions from other dimensions, as well. Ancient wisdom has taught the existence of many dimensions of consciousness. Science is investigating the existence of other dimensions. Psychic mediums routinely communicate with souls who have passed on into another dimension.
It’s not news that thoughts attract like thoughts. If, for instance, you wake up in the morning and stub your toe while getting out of bed, then spill the coffee you just made, and bump your head on the shower door, you are probably still upset about stubbing your toe. Your original upset has been carried forward into your day. If you change your thoughts, your day will change.
If you keep the upset over stubbing your toe all through your day, your day will likely get bumpier and bumpier while your mood becomes darker and darker. If this goes on long enough, you will likely attract a confused soul who has the same mindset as you, just as you seem to be running into grouchy people all day. It’s physics. Like attracts like. Even though the phrase has almost become a cliche, “change your thoughts and change your life” is the way life works.
You can think of souls who pass on in confusion as people just like yourself who are trying to hold onto old patterns because they don’t know any better. If they were compulsive eaters in physical life, they are still looking for ways to keep on eating. They seek attachment to a compulsive eater so they can fulfill that need. The same is true of souls who passed on with a compulsive need for drugs, drinking, smoking, and sex. They will find someone with their same need and try to attach themselves. It’s what they do. It’s the only life they know.
Instead of fearing them, we can be healing these souls and releasing them. Soul releasement is a powerful healing practice; the spiritual equivalent of psychotherapy. People are released from the influence of confused souls, and confused souls are free to move on to the next step in their spiritual evolvement. Although soul releasement therapy is not yet well known in the United States, it is a growing profession.
To sum up, confused souls do not like positive energy and cannot exist in it. When you change your energy from negitive to positive, they have to move on and find someone else to attach themselves to. I wrote an article about a year ago called The Unquiet Dead which goes into detail about the influence of confused souls and how to avoid it.
You are in charge of your thoughts and feelings. No disembodied soul can influence you unless you give it permission. If you have uncontrollable emotions, if you have thoughts that are not characteristic of you, or if you have addictions, read the article and practice the energy techniques described in it. Taking charge of your energy is the first step in resolving your own confusion and opening the way to spiritual freedom.
Next time, I’ll talk about soul releasement and exorcism.

Psychic Development
As you know, I talk a lot about human potential. For years I taught people how to develop their in-born psychic abilities and use them in practical ways in everyday life. The main focus of my book and this blog is to help demystify the psychic and spiritual parts of our nature so we can learn to use these gifts we were born with to help ourselves and others live their best lives.
Today I want to share with you an article written by Dr. Jill Ammon-Wexler about the power of your mind. Dr. Jill and I share the belief that psychic ability is a normal part of human nature and can be developed to help us improve our quality of life.
Here is a quote from Albert Einstein that you will find if you click on the related article link, “Intuition – An Intuitive’s View” where I found it. I agree with him.
“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”
Read Dr. Jill’s article and let me know what you think.

Past Lives
Reincarnation and Parallel Lives
According to the research I’ve done, about 24% of Americans believe in reincarnation, and some say that belief is on the increase. We all know that reincarnation is a foundational belief in some religions and is seen as the work of the devil in others.
Then there is the idea of parallel lives, in which we could be living multiple lives at the same time. There is no way to prove that we have lived before or are living multiple lives at once. We only know our own experience for sure.
I am biased toward belief in reincarnation because it’s easier for me to understand past lives than parallel lives. So I’m calling it past-life recall because of that and because it seems like an appropriate term to apply to my experiences.
Practical Application
My first past-life experience convinced me that this was an excellent method to use in my counseling practice. I can’t say enough about its effectiveness as a way to resolve anxiety, fear, anger, grief, self-judgment, and obsessiveness. I never had a client who did not experience healing with this process.
Two other things I like about past-life regression are that the process is quick and the results are lasting. In a matter of an hour or so, you can be healed of emotional trauma forever. An important advantage of it is that the person doesn’t have to experience the full impact of the trauma they went through originally.
My Personal Experience
If you are familiar with past-life recall, you know that some people remember vividly every detail of their former experience; the country in which it took place, the year in history, and the setting (see related article about Shanti Devi). A few even speak in the language they spoke at the time. In my case, I remember my experiences clearly, but sometimes I can’t see the faces of other people there. For me, the historical and visual details are generalized but the feelings are sharp and clear.
My first past-life recall occurred after touring a plantation in Georgia. It was a beautiful place and I felt very peaceful there. Some time later I was thinking about the experience and wondering why it felt so peaceful and comforting, since slavery was practiced there. Then I began to see in my mind a black woman in a beautiful, big white house and I found myself watching a kind of movie unfold.
I saw myself as a skinny, plain-faced black girl of about 11 or 12, tall for my age, and I knew I was this woman’s daughter. We worked in the house; it was a serene environment in spite of the circumstances. I got the feeling I had been a sheltered child, ignorant of the violent repression of blacks by whites.
One of my duties involved solemn and utter secrecy. I took it seriously that what I was doing was very important and was never to be revealed to the white people we worked for or discussed among the workers. I’m not sure I even knew we were slaves.
My secret job was to row a boat to a certain location in a swampy area. The location was sheltered by tree branches hanging over the water, and there were trees and reeds growing out of it. I would meet someone there in a boat, along with a passenger, a black person. I would take the passenger back to the house in my boat. The grownups would take over from there, and I would never see the passenger again. I knew from experience not to ask questions.
As I watched and felt this experience unfold in my mind, I knew that I had been unknowingly participating in the Underground Railroad.
My last trip was to bring about the end of my life. I arrived at the meeting place early, so I had to wait for my contact. After a while, I saw two white teen-age boys approaching in a rowboat. They were laughing and talking as I watched them from the reeds. I was not alarmed, thinking they would pass by when they saw me. That’s not what happened.
They began taunting me as soon as they spotted me. When they got close, they started rocking my boat and then tipped it over. As I surfaced, they pushed me under repeatedly until I drowned. I don’t remember what emotions I was feeling at the time. I may have been paralyzed with fear and astonishment.
What My Experience Meant in My Present Life
I grew up in Massachusetts with water everywhere – the beach, the town river, and ponds and lakes nearby. Naturally, one of the main activities in my childhood was swimming with my sister and our friends in the summer. My father taught us to swim, and we took swimming lessons at camp.
At around age 10 or 11, I became deathly afraid of deep water even though I was a good swimmer. I couldn’t bear to be touched while I was swimming. As I swam with my friends, I was afraid to admit that I was scared of the water, so I hid my fear as my heart beat like a hammer every time I swam out over my head. I carried this fear into adulthood until I experienced the lifetime of the slave girl. I have been free of that fear ever since.
Past-Life Regression in Psychotherapy
Millions of people have experienced healing by recalling other lifetimes. Simply recalling a past-life experience is enough to heal an emotional trauma forever. Extensive discussion is not necessary. I have found that the experience itself brings the understanding necessary to create resolution.
Hypnosis used to be the only way to achieve past-life recall in Western psychotherapy. Now, guided meditation is used, as well.
Back in the day, few psychotherapists used past-life regression, and those who did would not admit it publicly. But dogma in the medical profession is gradually relaxing, and more therapists are embracing it. Dr. Brian L. Weiss is one of the pioneers in the field and has written several fascinating books about using past-life regression in his psychotherapy practice.
Past-life recall has helped people understand present-day relationships, forgive and be forgiven, heal fear and anger, and gain a deeper understanding of their spiritual nature. It is exciting and inspiring to me that this process is becoming available to more and more people who can be freed of emotional burdens they have been carrying for lifetimes.
The Eternal Spirit
In my view, past-life regression is about the soul. It’s not about the brain and it’s not about being rational, yet it is a most profound and effective way to heal emotional trauma. It shows that we carry memories through lifetimes from one body to the next within the eternal, invisible energy that is our spiritual essence.
We can’t prove that past lives exist, but it doesn’t matter. We can trust what our gut tells us. And for some, there is no doubt.

How to Have Foolproof Communication with Your Spiritual Helpers
Last time, I told the story of how my guardian angels helped me quit smoking. They have always guided me toward the light. They have offered insightful and inspiring guidance on the most mundane matters and on the most difficult times I have faced. They celebrate the good times with me, too.
Today I want to share some ways I have learned to receive clear communication and how I have learned to know the difference between my spirit guides and my own thoughts.
If what I share today makes sense to you, use it. If not, put it on a shelf for later consideration or let it go. We all make the right choices at the right time.
I like to call them my guardian angels. Choose the name you prefer to call yours (spiritual helpers, board of directors, team, etc.) They don’t care what we call them, they just want to communicate.
Who Are They?
Your spiritual helpers are experts you have contracted with to accompany you through life. They have lived through every experience in your life and learned the lessons you have chosen this lifetime. Some say that you have known these souls in past lifetimes. Their purpose is to guide us, not to tell us what to do.
Getting in Tune
In order to communicate with them, you need to raise your vibration to their level. The first step is to clear your energy. I’m sure many of you have effective ways to do that. I’ll share again a technique I use that you may want to adopt. It is simple, quick, and effective.
Stand or sit comfortably (you will be able to do this on the fly, as well, once you get the hang of it). Mentally say, “I invoke the light of the Christ within (or your name for the Creator), I’m a clear and perfect channel, light is my guide.” At the same time, visualize a point of white light in your solar plexus. Allow it to get bigger and bigger until it fills your body and envelops you in a bubble of white light.
Gently repeat the mantra and visualize the light until you feel goose bumps, chills, or a tingling sensation on your skin. This is the indication that you are on your guides’ wavelength and are close enough to feel the higher charge of electro-magnetic energy that emanates from them. When your energy meets their energy it causes these physical sensations.
It is helpful for some to add a physical action to this process. Rub your hands together to charge up your energy. As you repeat the mantra, pass your hands over the top of your head and down the back of your neck. Give them a little shake and pass them over your forehead and down the sides of your face. Shake your hands again and repeat the process as often as necessary.
How to Ask Questions
Let’s talk about yes-no questions first. It’s important to phrase the question in such a way that your helpers can offer an opinion or suggestion. Don’t ask if you should do something; they will not respond because they won’t tell you what to do. Ask their opinion, such as, “In your opinion, is it in the best interest of all concerned for me to … ?” Or, “Is it in my best interest to … ?” Or, “I have the impression that … . In your opinion, is this an accurate impression?”
For more detail, you can ask for an answer through one of your spiritual gifts; a picture, a feeling, or words. (See my posts on the four spiritual gifts). Simply stay relaxed and wait for the impression. This will take practice. Be patient with yourself. Stay tuned in to your body and make sure you can feel their presence in one of the ways mentioned above. If you lose contact, simply perform the clearing process again.
Establishing Your Signals, Asking the Question, and Verifying the Answer
You will need to be standing for this. Place your feet about 12” apart and perform the clearing process until you can feel the presence of your spiritual helpers. Your body will become a pendulum of sorts. You will be receiving “Yes” and “No” answers through the swaying of your body. You can close your eyes through this process or keep them open, whatever is most comfortable for you.
Establish your signals. Gently sway front to back an inch or two and say, “I want this to mean ‘yes’.” Now move your body left to right a couple of inches and say, “I want this to mean ‘no’.” Now center your body, make sure you are clear, and say, “Give me a ‘yes’.” Allow your body to be moved. Ask for a ‘no’ in the same way. Practice until you feel comfortable with the process. You only need to do this once.
Ask your question according to the directions above. To verify the answer to a question, relax and ask if the answer came from them. “Did that answer come from you?” You will feel your body sway in one direction or another. Then ask, “Did that answer come from me?” You will feel your body sway in the opposite direction if you are still clear.
Always verify your answers.
Respect the Process
This is an advanced communication technique. You are responsible to get and stay clear all through the process. If you fail to keep your energy tuned in to your guidance, you will get answers from entities who are confused. Then you will become confused. Spiritual practice requires discipline. It’s up to you to maintain the clarity that is necessary for success with this technique.
Meanwhile, congratulations! Your spiritual helpers are happy to be in closer contact with you.

My Amazing Clairvoyant Experience
This experience is so astounding to me I have to share it with you.
There is a park near my house that I like to walk in, so I go there often. During one of these walks a few months ago I saw giant machines rapaciously tearing out large quantities of trees and foliage. Needless to say, I was upset, so I asked some of the operators what was going on. They told me they were clearing land for more ball fields. What could I say? I dealt with my upset and accepted the inevitable.
On a visit to the park three weeks ago, I saw that more trees and foliage had been removed. This time I called our City Council. I was told that the ball fields were going to be re-graded, the walking path would be paved, and drainage would be installed. To accomplish all this they had to remove more trees and foliage. They also were removing dead and diseased trees. I was assured they would replace some trees that had been removed, and no more trees or foliage would be taken out. I felt better now that I had the big picture.
Yesterday while walking in my little park, I discovered four new, beautiful trees had been planted in a group beside the walking path. They looked about half grown; three about 15 feet tall and one about 10 feet tall. There was fresh mulch carefully distributed around each one, and each had four support lines attached at the base of its lower branches and anchored in the ground. I was delighted to see them and admired the lovely way they had been placed and how healthy they looked.
On these walks, I turn around at the end of the path and go back the way I came. As I was walking back this time, I thought about those trees and could hardly wait to see them again. I rounded a bend in the path and began to look for those beautiful trees, but there was some distance to go before they would be visible. As I walked, I thought about how surprised and pleased I was that the Parks Department had begun planting so soon.
But I had a surprise coming. When I finally got to the spot where the trees were, they weren’t there! There was nothing but empty space.
I was stunned. At first I didn’t believe what I was (not) seeing, but then I realized I had just had my first clairvoyant experience outside my head. That is, up to now, all my visions had been in my mind. Clairvoyance is not my primary means of perception, and until that moment I had always seen visions in my mind with my eyes closed.
That vision of those trees was so clear it seemed I could have reached out and touched them. I had looked up and seen their leaves playing in the breeze. When I fully grasped what had happened, I felt so elated. I had huge amounts of energy and I was smiling for the rest of the day. I am immensely grateful for that experience. Now I know what it’s like to see as clairvoyants see.
Then there are the messages behind the vision. One is a demonstration and reassurance of how close spirit is to me. The day before in meditation I had declared myself open to more possibilities with my psychic perception. I asked and I received.
Another message could be that some day I may see those same trees in that same place, this time in the physical. If this happens, I will definitely let you know.
