Personal Years – Your Future Revealed

An important part of your Chaldean Soul Chart is the Personal Years section, showing you a 9-year cycle. This section is part of the Cycles section of your chart, and provides a look into your future, year by year. In this post, I’m going to show you how to calculate your personal years, and I’ll share some of my experiences with personal years.

This is a pretty long article, but it’s because of two things; the directions on how to calculate your personal years, and the interpretations of the numbers. So hang in there. It’ll go fast.

Our Personal Year numbers reveal our future in the form of trends that will dominate during their influence. Your personal years flow as naturally as breathing, and bring you experiences that keep you on track with your life purpose.

When you resist the influence of your personal years, you experience feelings like frustration, you’re stuck, struggling, working hard trying to make things happen. It’s like trying to swim upstream against a powerful current.

Your personal year always begins on your birthday and ends on the day before your next birthday. You may sense your personal year influence moving in up to three months before your birthday. During this transition time, you might feel confusion, irritability, impatience or a lack of direction if you aren’t aware of what’s happening.

Calculating your personal year is easy. But there are some things you need to know before you start.

  • Use the calendar year to calculate your personal year (in numerology it’s called the Universal Year – this year it’s 2014).
  • If you were born between the months of January and June, use the current universal year to calculate your personal year.
  • If you were born between July and December, use the next universal year. For 2014, use 2015.

 Here’s how to calculate.

  1. Write down the number of the month you were born and reduce it to a single digit, if necessary.
  2. Write down the date you were born and reduce it to a single digit, if necessary.
  3. Add the sums of these two numbers together and reduce to a single digit, if necessary.
  4. Add the digits of the universal year together and reduce to a single digit, if necessary.
  5. Add the sums of steps 3 and 4 together and reduce to a single digit, if necessary. If this sum is a Master Number (11, 22, 33) do not reduce to a single digit.

 Example 1 for 2014: June 28

 June = 6

  1. 28 =  2 + 8 = 10 = 1 + 0 = 1
  2. 6 + 1 = 7
  3. 2 + 0 + 1 + 4 = 7
  4. 7 + 7 = 14 = 5, Personal Year number for June 28 in 2014

Example 2 for 2014: November 18

  1. November = 11 = 1 + 1 = 2
  2. 18 = 1 + 8 =  9
  3. 2 + 9 = 11 = 1 + 1 = 2
  4. 2 + 0 + 1 + 5 = 8
  5. 2 + 8 = 10 = 1 + 0 = 1, Personal Year number for November 18 in 2014

If you calculate your personal years for a full 9-year cycle, you’ll see how the rhythm of personal years works. Each year prepares you for the next. Each year builds upon the experiences of the previous year. With each nine-year period, you gain more experience and develop more strength and wisdom if you follow the path your cycles indicate.

You can compare personal year cycles with your spouse, children, friends or co-workers. Understanding how your personal year cycles compare and contrast helps improve relationships. You can support each other on a deeper level knowing the influences that are present in the lives of your loved ones and the people you work with.

For more help in understanding how your cycles work, calculate the previous 9 years to see how they played out.

Here are the interpretations for each number. These interpretations are short because of space considerations. There is more detail in my book.

Number          Interpretation

1                 The beginning of a new cycle, this will be a year of initiating; starting new projects, making new plans, meeting new people, taking the lead, following your own instincts and intuition.

2                 This is a year for cooperation, partnerships, working in harmony with others, and creating peace within and without. Your feelings and psychic abilities are emphasized.

3                This is a year for branching out; social activities, self expression, promotion, and creativity. It is a time to enjoy the lighter side of life;  entertaining, going out with friends, getting involved in the creative arts.

4                This is a year for building, for creating routines and systems, for patiently attending to details, for creating a solid foundation that will serve you for years to come. It is a demanding year that requires self discipline.

5                This is a period of change, freedom, movement, activity of almost any sort. It’s a time of adjusting to new things, a time of expansion, and a time of learning to let go. Changes are new opportunities for growth.

6                Your attention will be on home, family, and health. There will be family responsibilities. There could be health issues. You may become more involved in your community. It’s a good year to get married.

7                This is usually a quiet year, as the vibration is one of introspection, study, research, regrouping, and reevaluating. Allow developments to unfold for you rather than trying to force them. Allow time to be alone. Being out in nature will soothe and refresh you.

8                This can be a dynamic year with lots of energy for dealing with material things and money. It is a good year for business success. Use good judgment, exercise your leadership, be efficient and practical, and think big.

9                As the last year in the cycle, this is the year of endings. You could be ending relationships or a job, cleaning out your old stuff, or changing old attitudes and habits. You are letting go of things that no longer serve you.

11/2             This is an illuminating, inspiring year full of high energy and deep sensitivity. It is a time of evaluating your motives and ethics. Your interests will be in metaphysical, spiritual, or scientific exploration.

22/4             This is the year to put your ideas into action. Think big. Go after your dreams. Build something that serves mankind. This is not the year for purely personal goals.

33/6             This is a year for unselfish service and communication. You will be involved in carrying out responsibilities and duties to friends, family, and community. Share the love – fun is important, and a good party is a source of happiness for everybody.

I’d like to share some of my experiences with you to give you a feel for the way personal years work. My personal year for 2012-13 was #6. Three big things happened that correspond to the #6 influence.

  •  I became a volunteer at our local arts center. I get to immerse myself in the art world, and I began to paint and draw again after being away from it for too many years.
  • I had the worst cold of my life. I couldn’t work for a month, and a friend pointed out that it was my work that was making me sick. Letting go of some limiting beliefs about work has helped me begin to transform my career. It has brought me the freedom to experiment and try new ideas.
  • I learned that a cherished family member has cancer. She is in a #9 personal year, the year of endings, a time for her to let go of people, things, and beliefs that are no longer serving her. It is a life-changing experience for everyone in our family, and we are supporting her for complete recovery.

Last June, I made the transition into a #7 personal year, a time of seeking truth and  looking inward. I am enjoying time alone – living in a cocoon and loving it. I’m developing research I began years ago, working on new ideas, improving my skills and re-evaluating my goals. This month, the universal year number, 2014, became the same as my personal year number, and I’m feeling the double influence.

Whether we see our personal year experiences as good or bad, the most important thing is to use them all as opportunities for growth and loving support for ourselves and others.

Have your say! Do your numbers and let us know what you come up with. Questions? Just ask.

Live your purpose, love your life!

Reflection and Power in the U.S.A.

Today is our country’s 236th birthday, and today she moves from a Personal Year of 7 to a Personal Year of 8 – two very different vibrations. First, let’s review the past year.

Review

During a 7 Personal Year emphasis is placed on revealing hidden conditions, introspection, mental housecleaning, and spiritual pursuits. Emphasis is also placed on research, study, and developing expertise. These conditions obviously exist in any Personal Year; however, in a 7 year they are emphasized so that if you haven’t made time for mental housecleaning, for example, conditions will present events that will encourage you to evaluate your life in some way. The vibration of a new Personal Year begins its influence up to three months before the Personal Year begins.

Scandal

Scandal is one way that hidden conditions are revealed. During theU.S.’s 7 Personal Year there were 12 sex scandals involving American Federal politicians; more than in any previous year. In the previous 10 years, there were 20 (approximately 2 per year), in the 10 years previous to that approximately 10, decreasing significantly as we move backwards in time.

Other scandals involving the U.S. government came to light: Solyndra (loaned hundreds of millions and then going bankrupt), Fast and Furious (gun running by the ATF), Secret Service agents (inappropriate behavior while on duty), the GSA using tax-payer money to party on big time, and secret loans by the Federal Reserve to Wall Street aristocracy.

The case against Jerry Sandusky is still in trial, with accusations going back more than 30 years, not to mention the emergence of new sexual abuse cases by Catholic clergy, and the Schwarzenegger scandal.

At the risk of sounding flippant, a great many people missed the opportunity to re-evaluate their lives.

Unfinished Business

The number 7 is about allowing things to evolve naturally rather than using force to accomplish goals. Even though the Supreme Court upheld the healthcare law, so many people feel forced into something they don’t want that this issue is not finished and will be carried over into the number 8 vibration. A more conciliatory and inclusive approach to this whole issue, including a fair restructuring of healthcare in the U.S., may have enabled our leaders to have a solid plan to put in place this year.

Release

Revealing hidden conditions can also provide release from pressure. When Osama bin Laden’s hidden location was discovered, his assassination was considered by many to be a relief on many levels. The repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” released gays in the military from living in secrecy.

Spiritual Awakening

Ed Halliwell’s article in the guardian (U.K.), says that meditation is on the increase in conservative America.

Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan just published “A Mindful Nation,” a how-to book on meditation, which has been called inspiring and pragmatic.

PR Newswire, in an article on meditation inAmerica, talks about a book by Sarah McLean, contemporary meditation expert and author of “Soul-Centered: Transform Your Life in 8 Weeks with Meditation.”

Indications are that we in the U.S. are embarking on a more spiritual way of life by taking steps to reduce stress and become more authentic.

Now let’s move on to our country’s number 8 Personal Year, today being the first day of a completely different vibration.

Number 8 Personal Year for theU.S.A.

This year is about power, energy, force, discipline, and good judgment. It will emphasize action, leadership, and executive ability. It’s a good year for business and financial success if good judgment and discipline are exercised.

The Presidential Election

The next President will be the one who can convince us that he is fiscally responsible, and that he is a man of action with a positive attitude who knows how to run a business. He will inspire confidence if he can be a fair and objective leader who can work with Congress by taking a balanced view of an issue rather than a partisan view.

Power

There will be events which will require theU.S.to use its power wisely in the international arena, standing up for its principles without pushing others around. It is a year to demonstrate leadership in a team environment.

Power can emerge in a negative way inWashingtonthis year, even more than usual. Politicians will have to rein in their egos if they want to be successful.

The Fun Part

The up side is that this is a joyful, active energy with lots of positive accomplishment when people can keep from getting bogged down in unimportant details and in taking things personally.

Happy Birthday, U.S.A! May this year be the best year ever!

Live your purpose every day.

Numerology in Everyday Life: The Power of Personal Years

Are you frustrated by your finances, your relationships, your career, or your health? You may be resisting a very important yearly cycle. Everyone starts a new year twice each year. The obvious one, of course, is on January 1. The other one is when your Personal Year begins on your birthday.

I’ve been off the radar screen for a few weeks untying some pretty intricate knots in my psyche. I’ve never experienced anything like it before; especially going into relative isolation as I did; and significantly, a month before a new Personal Year was to begin. Doubt and hesitation had been nagging me for a while. Then it seemed as if a wall suddenly rose in front of me and I couldn’t go forward. I was stopped in my tracks. Being the psychotherapist that I am, I recognized issues that needed to be dealt with, so I let go and followed my emotions.

What came forward for me were issues of trust and love. Thanks to guidance from spirit and some powerful self-healing techniques, I have come through a challenging time with a positive shift in consciousness. I feel clearer than ever; like a purifying light has been turned on inside me, and I’m happy to be in touch again.

I am now experiencing deeper levels of trust and faith (giving up control – ack!). I do not pretend that my adventure with trusting is easy. Sometimes it feels like walking a tightrope over Niagara Falls without a net. The opening of my heart has given me a deeper sense of calm and peace along with new levels of excitement and enthusiasm for life. I’m experiencing new levels of compassion, and I feel deeply connected with spirit, with humanity, and with myself.

Paying attention to my feelings has given me countless opportunities to become the person I was born to be. Like most of us, I have my share of limiting beliefs that hold me back. And, like most of us, I have resistance to dealing with the issues behind them. But when I allow myself to face and resolve the unpleasant emotions that come forward, I experience freedom. I actually breathe more freely and feel lighter.

I’m moving from a Number 4 year to a Number 5 year; from a quiet time of building a firm foundation, getting all my ducks in a row, to a year of change and activity. The transition from one year to another can be challenging because you’re influenced by two vibrations; the old one is fading out and the new one is moving in. Consequently, the two energies can combine to produce uncertainty.

Moving into a Number 5 year sometimes makes me feel insecure about the future, since there are changes coming, sometimes fast and unexpected. That’s when I know I need to be thinking thoughts of what I want instead of what I fear. The positive side of a Number 5 year is that energy is moving, and it is easier to launch new projects. A Number 4 year is not the ideal time to launch new projects. It is excellent, however, for reorganizing, systematizing, and developing discipline in order to be ready for the action and changes coming up.

During my last Number 5 year (9 years ago), I moved, started a new job, bought a new car, and began a new romance. The move was an unpleasant surprise and had to be done fast. The other events followed easily and naturally as the year unfolded. I had no idea any of these things would occur. That’s how a Number 5 year can be.

Everyone on earth is experiencing a personal year right now. Many people are just entering a new one. Personal years are important because they lead us step by step through important 9-year cycles called Pinnacles. Personal years present experiences that allow us to evolve; if we don’t evolve, we get stuck. Each year in the 9-year cycle creates a natural progression from beginning to end. Each cycle enables us to expand more deeply into our life purpose and rise to new levels of fulfillment.

If your year is turning out to be a bumpy one, you may be resisting its energy. It’s like swimming against a strong current; a lot of work for little advancement. If you are feeling impatient or bored with the pace of your life, you may be in a slower, quieter year. Understanding can help you use the energy in a positive way.

I think it would be fun to talk about your personal year. If you agree, leave your first name and your birth month and day (don’t need the year) as a comment to this post, and I’ll share with you the focus of your Personal Year. When you are in harmony with the energy of your Personal Year, you are creating the life you were meant to live. I’d love to hear about your experiences.
