Cycles – Unfinished Business

Unfinished Business occurs when you have ignored a Challenge lesson you selected in a previous lifetime. We have free will, so we can choose to skip a Challenge cycle. However, the decision comes with a price – we still attract the experiences that represent that Challenge, and we will do so until we decide to resolve it.

I have found that very few people come into this life without unfinished business. When I see a chart free of Unfinished Business, I know the person has had a very high level of commitment to spiritual growth. Most people have at least one instance of Unfinished Business on their Chaldean Soul Chart, which can be seen as an additional Challenge in their lives.

When I learned my Unfinished Business number, I saw exactly how it was playing out in my life.

Can you see a trend of Unfinished Business in your life in the following interpretations?

Interpretations

Number 1:

Indicates in the past a lack of ambition, laziness, dependence on others, fear of standing out in any way, indecisiveness, over-cautiousness, timidity, lack of self respect, and fear of anything new, conditions which are present in your life now.

You can talk a good show, but there is often no action to follow it up. You will not achieve anything without working for it. Success is yours when you develop the courage of your convictions and stand up for yourself while keeping your cool. You need to be the leader.

Number 2:

In the past you were impatient with details, disliked following rules and directions, you were tactless, undisciplined, you lacked direction, lacked self-confidence, were irresponsible with money, and so you have these challenges now.

You may have trouble bonding in intimate relationships. Learn to cooperate with others in order to accomplish anything in this lifetime, and learn to come out of your shell and contribute to the group. Your life is full of details that you must handle. Working with your hands on creative projects can be quite enjoyable.

Number 3:

In a past life, you were afraid to express yourself or promote yourself and your ideas. You had a pessimistic view of life. You lacked imagination and didn’t enjoy life much. You may want to share a great deal with others, but feel you are unable to. You are faced with situations which require you to reveal yourself.

Three is the number of happiness. Learn to express yourself and develop a realistic, optimistic view of life. Learn to be grateful and see the beauty in life. You could take singing or dancing lessons, or join a theater group or public speaking group. Do not paint or draw, as these activities can be isolating, unless you are prepared to have regular exhibitions of your work (social media do not count). Writing can be satisfying if you participate in writer’s groups and read your work in public.

Your creativity, your sense of humor, your friendliness, and anything that brings joy to you will also bring joy to others.

Number 4:

You avoided hard work, discipline, and orderliness in the past, and have challenges with these issues now.

In this life, you need to establish a firm foundation for yourself. Plan your life and work your plan. Stay focused, have patience, practice discipline, be systematic and orderly, and take care of details. Working with your hands could be pleasant for you and would teach you a great deal. Follow through on your responsibilities. Other people will appreciate your dedication, and so will you.

Number 5:

The number 5 is seldom lacking in a person’s name, but if it is lacking in yours, life seems to be a series of changes, new things to adapt to, and emergencies of all kinds. Avoiding these in previous lifetimes magnifies their presence in your life now.

Learn to welcome change and let go of things and relationships that no longer serve you. Interact with and appreciate all kinds of people, adapt to new situations, and handle emergencies responsibly when they come along.

Number 6:

You have avoided responsibility in the past. You were afraid of being tied down, especially to family duties. You avoid helping others because you have been taken advantage of. You never learned the difference between helping someone and taking over. Family members are manipulative, demanding, and unreasonable. You tend to be critical and self-righteous.

You need to learn to set your boundaries and to help people without sacrificing yourself. Learning these important lessons will enable you to enjoy helping others. Remember, you are seeing yourself in others when you criticize. Give yourself a hug and a pat on the back, and love yourself just as you are.

Number 7:

You have been afraid to trust and have faith. In the past, you withdrew and feared taking action when you didn’t know what to expect. You failed to look beyond the obvious for the truth.

Learn to examine all sides of a situation before coming to a conclusion. Develop your inner knowing and your connection to inner guidance, and then trust them to guide you. You need both material and spiritual evidence to guide your life. No more denial or fuzz-ball thinking for you. You are too talented for that.

Number 8:

In the past, you feared having money, possessions, and power. You were careless, showed poor judgment, and didn’t trust your common sense, and these conditions are showing up in your life now.

Learn to develop your organizational and managerial abilities. Delegate opportunity, not responsibility. That is, take responsibility for those tasks you delegate and check up on the delegatees periodically. Always follow up with lawyers, employees, roofers, plumbers, bankers, etc. It’s not that everyone is out to get you, but that you are attracting experiences that force you to pay attention.

Get good advice before investing, and don’t lend money to anybody, no matter how much you want to help. For you, this is good judgment because you don’t get back the money you lend. Be generous in other ways. Learn to love taking good care of yourself and your things, and you can enjoy success. You deserve the best.

You’re Not Really A Computer, but…..

If you think about yourself in computer language, your physical body is the hardware of your life and your soul is the software that drives it. You are hardwired for success with top-quality software, but if that software becomes corrupted with limiting beliefs your brilliant programs start to fail. Your hardware will eventually malfunction if your corrupted software is not cleared of limiting beliefs. So you can see how important it is to take good care of yourself.

Numerology is a science that gives us specific information about ourselves which goes beyond the physical, encompassing the mental, emotional, and spiritual levels as well. I hope you’ve gained insight into your own life by learning about Unfinished Business. All of our challenging experiences are meant to wake us up to our own magnificence.

You Are More Than You Think You Are

Your Spiritual Core – Your Calling, the Direction of Your Life

Last week’s post was about your Life Purpose number. This week we’ll look at your Life Direction number, the second number listed in the  Spiritual Core section of the Chaldean Soul Chart.

Your Direction number is placed in the second column of the Chaldean Soul Chart right underneath your Purpose number. It indicates the way in which you chose to express your purpose.

Your life purpose is funneled through the characteristics of your Direction number. For example, if you chose a life purpose of 3 and a Direction of 6, your purpose would be expressed differently than if you had chosen a 7 Direction number.

Your Direction number represents your soul’s calling, the most fulfilling career, job, or way of life for you – that which makes you feel excited, deeply contented, that this is where you belong. It can be a passion for something like being a parent, athletics, writing, dancing, entertaining, cars, administration, the list is endless.

Think about the thing that’s most fascinating to you. Is it your hobby, your career, is your life set up to express that right now? Or are you living your life according to someone else’s plan, hating your job, unhappy with your life, feeling empty inside?

Many people put aside their passions, unaware that their soul is calling to them; unaware that they can start now to bring their passions into their lives.

Is that you? Many have buried their passions so deeply they are unaware of them. If that’s you, this is the right time to start noticing what excites you, what wakes you up and fills your heart. Perhaps you’ll get a hint from the interpretations that follow.

So, did you find yourself in this article? I’d love to have your comments or questions. Next time, what motivates you.

You Are More than You Think You Are

Beginning a new series of articles about you – an adventure into your soul using the ancient science of Chaldean numerology to help you see the magnificence of who you really are.

This is a pretty long post, but I couldn’t figure out how to make it shorter. If you hang in there until the end I think you’ll be glad you did .

My experience as someone who was stumbling through a life that didn’t fulfill me and eventually as a spiritual teacher, counselor, and soul-centered psychotherapist has taught me that we humans are much more than we think we are. We have wisdom beyond our imaginings and the power to create the lives we’ve always wanted. We are here to wake up to our own wisdom and to the limitless possibilities we have before us.

We are here to be happy – not at the expense of others, but as a consequence of the unfoldment of our innate wisdom and talents. We were truly born to succeed by paying attention to our inner nature – by following those inner promptings that lead us to act on the talents we possess. This is true success – from the inside out.

My passion concerns the invisible part of us, our feelings and thoughts, our inner awareness, why we are here and where we came from. Many years ago, I began to investigate esoteric sciences, psychology, and mysticism to find answers. As I progressed in my search, my life changed. I found myself on a path of discovery that excited me. I was waking up and getting happy.

In these weekly articles, I’m going to share how Chaldean numerology helped me change my life. I hope you will find value in my experiences. I want you to experience fulfillment and happiness from the inside out. I want you to discover the brilliance of your innate wisdom and learn to trust that you know what’s best for you.

If there’s something in these articles that’s too far out for you to embrace, just skip it and move on. Everyone’s path to inner wisdom is different, so choose what makes sense to you and leave the rest.

Some Ideas that Make Sense to Me

You are a soul with a physical body – not a body with a soul. You are a spiritual being in a physical world, here to experience life as a fulfilling adventure. The inner you and outer you are irrevocably connected. Your outer life is a reflection of your inner consciousness. You are perfect as you are, even with your so-called faults.

You chose to be here at this very time in the very place you are right now, in the very conditions you are experiencing right now, whether you love, or not, your present circumstances. This is a tricky concept because we tend to automatically make ourselves wrong or blame others for the so-called bad in our lives. But what if you are infinitely wiser and more powerful than you have ever imagined? What if you chose the stuff you don’t like to teach you something about yourself?

When you go walking along a beautiful path in the woods and come upon an obstacle, maybe an overhanging bush or some tangled brush, do you blame the path for putting it in your way? Probably not. You find a way around it or cut the brush back and continue on. We all have challenges. If we learn to see them as opportunities to strengthen ourselves, doors of mastery we never imagined open for us.

Who Are You?

You are a powerful and deliberate co-creator with Spirit. You have created everything in your life in service to your spiritual growth. By going toward that which fascinates you, ignites your passions, and makes you happy, you are growing, getting happier, and automatically being of service to everyone around you. By finding ways to resolve your challenges, you are automatically creating opportunities of mastership for yourself and everyone around you.

Science is discovering that you did not come into this life as a blank slate. As an infinite being, you were born with all the wisdom you have gained through lifetimes of experience. You have co-created with Spirit the perfect plan for your life. You already know your life plan, but have forgotten all or part of it.

My Profound Experience

During my search for answers, I was drawn to study numerology and discovered the ancient esoteric science called Chaldean numerology. Its origins are traced all the way back to the beginning of civilization. I tested it on myself and many others against other numerology systems and found that my subjects and I resonated most to the Chaldean system. We felt it not only described us more accurately, but it clicked inside us like a key opening a door. I remember when I had that profound and powerful experience – I felt my life open up; I felt so comforted and reassured that I cried.

I discovered that Chaldean numerology reveals the life plan we have forgotten. I got so excited about it I included it in my psychotherapy practice. I developed what I call the Chaldean Soul Chart. It reveals the deep wisdom of your brilliant, best Self. It reveals the spiritual anatomy of your life – what you came to do, how you chose to do it, your past, present, and future, your strengths, talents, challenges, and any unfinished business you may have.

Here’s what it looks like.

CSChart

During the next few weeks, I’ll fill out the chart step by step, showing you a fictional Chaldean Soul Profile to give you a peek at what you can learn about yourself.

As you can see, in each section of the chart there is a space for a number. Each number has a meaning that reveals your inner and outer qualities. All the numbers combined reveal the life you have chosen to live.

Next week we’ll begin our journey through the chart. You may want to make a copy of it so you can follow along in the coming weeks. See you then, and congratulations for hanging in there.

Hidden Passion, Abandoned Dreams

This is the story, in three installments, of how I woke up to my life purpose. I tell it because many people have a similar story – of hiding their passion, of living someone else’s version of their life and suffering inwardly for it. I hope my story inspires readers to follow their heart – to learn from my experience – to stop denying who they are and discover the power that lies within.

Part 1 – Dazed and Confusedquestion-mark-th

Some people come out of the womb knowing what their purpose in life is. They don’t even think about it. From wordless toddler hood they live and breathe their passion. But I didn’t have a clue about mine. I was worried by the time high school graduation rolled around. I thought by that time I should have a direction for the rest of my life.

My up-bringing was no help (so I thought at the time). My sister and I were raised by an abusive mother, physically and mentally bullied into obedience, our self-expression smothered. Our father was the one who held the love in our family and, being the typical breadwinner of the 1950s when I grew up, didn’t have a clue what went on at home when he was at work.

At that time, by graduation from high school boys were expected to know what they were going to do for the rest of their lives. Girls were supposed to get married and have babies, but I didn’t want to get married, much less have babies. When I made the mistake of mentioning this to my mother, she came back with, “You don’t know what you’re talking about.” I knew there was something more compelling for me, but I didn’t know what it was. I went to college and majored in Fine Arts, hoping for an answer.

While I loved art work, I was enthralled by the mind; by what makes people tick. One of the most gripping books I read in my early teens was The Snake Pit, a novel about the use of shock treatments for mental illness in the 1940s and ‘50s, which I found both frightening and fascinating.

Even more fascinating to me were psychic phenomena. What was psychic awareness? Where did it come from? I wanted to be psychic. There wasn’t much information about psychic awareness or intuition back then, and the books I found were sensationalist, full of drama and dire warnings.

I was looking for something educational during a time when the subject was taboo. The closest I got to actual psychic phenomena was at high school sleepovers where my friends and I would use a Ouija board, conduct séances, or try to make a table tip, but nothing ever happened. According to what I learned years later, we were lucky.

My most heart-felt pursuits were not taken seriously. I was told I would never be able to make a living with art work. (Funny, I had never heard anyone say the same thing to a boy). And psychic studies were completely ridiculous. The only career open in that field was giving psychic readings in your living room, which would guarantee poverty and ruin your reputation, according to the values in my world. I think my parents paid for my college education believing I would eventually come to my senses and get married. They were right about one thing.

Even though my belief in myself was almost nil, I hoped that somehow I would succeed in life. Because of my interests, I felt like a fish out of water, a lost soul with no clue how to find her way. To compound my frustration, I eventually allowed myself to be talked out of pursuing my dreams and into getting married – a big mistake (except for the birth of my son), but I was a pleaser, and I was good at it.

 Next time, I get a wake-up call.

Exorcism and Soul Releasement

Darker Drabble: Medical Exorcisms
Darker Drabble: Medical Exorcisms (Photo credit: Eexlebots)

What is exorcism?
A definition of exorcism by the Free Online Dictionary says exorcism is a ceremony to expel an evil spirit from a person or place. Most Christians know exorcism through the Catholic church as a violent and frightening process. Other Christian religions such as Pentecostals and other charismatic groups also practice exorcism. It has been practiced for centuries worldwide in Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and among tribal cultures.

In the Christian religion, the key concept in exorcism is that an entity who has taken over a person’s body is an evil demon and must be removed forcibly. This creates a battle between the “demon” and the exorcist(s), each side determined to show the other who is right. When the “demon” is finally expelled from the body, it is made to swear an oath or commanded to depart rather than being directed to a specific destination. It seems the person, now freed from influence, is not given any counsel about how to remain free of outside influence in the future.

I have never worked with “demons,” but in counseling a client once, I saw a group of violently angry entities waiting for her, and I knew that if she continued on the path she had been pursuing, she would eventually meet up with them. She had been hurt so deeply by an important person in her life that she was unwilling to forgive, and she was on her way to being taken in by this group.

Soul Releasement
A more recent method of dealing with disembodied spirits involves seeing them as confused souls who need healing rather than as evil entities. While soul releasement was part of my metaphysical training, other psychotherapists, such as Dr. Edith Fiore, developed their own methods of freeing confused souls as a result of surprise encounters during psychotherapy sessions. Dr. Carl A. Wickland was a pioneer in the field of abnormal psychology who practiced soul releasement with much success. Dr. William J. Baldwin called the process he developed spirit releasement therapy. The process goes by different names, depending on who developed it, but it is conducted basically the same way with minor variations.

How It’s Done
I conducted many soul releasement sessions (which I call entity release) in my practice of psychotherapy, so I’ll share with you the way I did it. My first priority was to determine that my client’s disturbing feelings were due to a possession and not something else. Next, I began working with the attached entity, either through a psychic medium or through my spiritual guides. My client was a witness, and not a participant in this part of the process, although I would check with my client from time to time to see how s/he was relating to what was occurring as I worked with the entity.

To begin, I asked the entity to identify itself, tell me why it was with my client, and what it wanted. After clarifying this information, I let the entity know that it had passed on and no longer had a physical body. I let the entity know how it had been negatively influencing the client, and that it was time to go on to the next step in its evolution.

Sometimes the confused souls were unwilling to move on. They may have felt frightened or angry or that the client needed them for protection, so I would address their concerns. After resolving their concerns, I would introduce them to their own spiritual helpers, who were prepared to take them to the light, where they would be lovingly welcomed.

Once it was established that the entity was willing to go, I asked the entity and my client if there was anything they wanted to say before leaving. Usually there was forgiveness given and received, or love and reassurance expressed, then goodbyes, and the entity would go into the light with its spiritual helpers.

The sessions were emotional for the client and the entity; sometimes the attachments were due to misguided love. Whatever the attachment was about, healing always occurred. This was the reward for me. I had the fulfillment of witnessing healing of my client, as well as of the formerly attached entity. The final step was to regroup with my client, coaching him/her on how to stay clear of further attachment and how to alter the habits that had attracted the entity.

The most important thing about conducting this non-confrontational type of soul release is that spirit conducts the session. The facilitator never gets emotionally involved with the entity and is guided by spirit through every step of the process. If an entity becomes difficult, it is important to allow the spirit guides to handle the situation. I remember an entity visiting me several days before a scheduled session.

I noticed him in my house, floating near the ceiling, and at first he seemed threatening. I eventually realized he was afraid of losing his attachment to the physical, as he knew about the impending session, and was checking me out. I did not address the entity directly, but told my spiritual helpers I was willing to allow him to observe me, and I wanted them to see that he did not try to influence me in any way. He left my house after a couple of days, and the session for his release went smoothly and easily.

There is more information about soul releasement at the following web sites: http://www.soulrescuesite.com/spirit-releasement-therapy.htm, http://www.spiritreleasement.org/NSITE/index.html, and http://depossessiontherapy.com.

Soul releasement is perfectly safe when it is conducted in an organized, step-by-step manner. Providing a safe structure gives the confused soul boundaries and the security it needs to engage in the process.

The next, and last, article in this series will be a kind of summary and will talk about the symptoms of influence by a disembodied spirit.

Live your purpose every day.

Disembodied Souls, Powerful Influences

English: The magnetic field of a bar magnet re...
Image via Wikipedia

It is well understood that everything is energy – even thoughts are energy. Our thoughts, beliefs, and memories create an energy pattern around us, making us magnets for similar thoughts. Every thought we think travels and reverberates into infinity. We live in a psychic soup full of thoughts and influences from everywhere. Many of the thoughts that we take for granted are ours are really impressions we pick up from others.

Paranormal studies in thought projection have shown that a subject can pick up a thought no matter how far away he/she is from the person projecting that thought. It happens in everyday life. When you think of a friend and that friend phones you shortly after your thought, you have picked up your friend’s thought of calling you. It’s natural. Every thought we think influences something or someone. Fortunately, we have the power to choose our influences. Unfortunately, most of us are not aware of this power we have.

We pick up impressions from other dimensions, as well. Ancient wisdom has taught the existence of many dimensions of consciousness. Science is investigating the existence of other dimensions. Psychic mediums routinely communicate with souls who have passed on into another dimension.

It’s not news that thoughts attract like thoughts. If, for instance, you wake up in the morning and stub your toe while getting out of bed, then spill the coffee you just made, and bump your head on the shower door, you are probably still upset about stubbing your toe. Your original upset has been carried forward into your day. If you change your thoughts, your day will change.

If you keep the upset over stubbing your toe all through your day, your day will likely get bumpier and bumpier while your mood becomes darker and darker. If this goes on long enough, you will likely attract a confused soul who has the same mindset as you, just as you seem to be running into grouchy people all day. It’s physics. Like attracts like. Even though the phrase has almost become a cliche, “change your thoughts and change your life” is the way life works.

You can think of souls who pass on in confusion as people just like yourself who are trying to hold onto old patterns because they don’t know any better. If they were compulsive eaters in physical life, they are still looking for ways to keep on eating. They seek attachment to a compulsive eater so they can fulfill that need. The same is true of souls who passed on with a compulsive need for drugs, drinking, smoking, and sex. They will find someone with their same need and try to attach themselves. It’s what they do. It’s the only life they know.

Instead of fearing them, we can be healing these souls and releasing them. Soul releasement is a powerful healing practice; the spiritual equivalent of psychotherapy. People are released from the influence of confused souls, and confused souls are free to move on to the next step in their spiritual evolvement. Although soul releasement therapy is not yet well known in the United States, it is a growing profession.

To sum up, confused souls do not like positive energy and cannot exist in it. When you change your energy from negitive to positive, they have to move on and find someone else to attach themselves to. I wrote an article about a year ago called The Unquiet Dead which goes into detail about the influence of confused souls and how to avoid it.

You are in charge of your thoughts and feelings. No disembodied soul can influence you unless you give it permission. If you have uncontrollable emotions, if you have thoughts that are not characteristic of you, or if you have addictions, read the article and practice the energy techniques described in it. Taking charge of your energy is the first step in resolving your own confusion and opening the way to spiritual freedom.

Next time, I’ll talk about soul releasement and exorcism.

Live your purpose every day.

Your Outer Self – How You Live Your Life

As with your Inner Self (see blog post, “Your Inner Self – The Engine that Drives You”), whether you are aware of it or not, you are always trying to express your spiritual self. It is everyone’s automatic response to life.

Your Outer Self is another of your five core qualities. It represents the way people see you, your personality, and lifestyle.

If you are feeling frustrated with life or if somehow things are not working out as you wish, chances are you are allowing outside circumstances to override your deeper spiritual self. It is always harder to resist your inner promptings than to go with the flow of your purpose.

Your Outer Self number is found in the consonants of your birth name. To calculate your Outer Self number, you will need to use the Chaldean Conversion Code below.

How to Calculate Your Outer Self Number

Print your birth name on a piece of paper. Be sure you are using the name on your birth certificate, even if it is spelled incorrectly. Next, place the number that corresponds to each consonant above that consonant in your name. Add all the numbers above the consonants in your first name together and write the sum above those numbers.

Now reduce that sum to a single digit, if necessary, (for example, 13 becomes 4) and write it above the first sum. Do the same thing with your middle and last names. If you have a suffix like Junior or III after your name, calculate that in the same way. Spell out Junior.

Finally, add all the single-digit sums above each name together and reduce that sum to a single digit unless it is 11, 22, or 33, which are master numbers. Now you have your Outer Self number.

Brief Interpretations of your Outer Self Number

Each number has its positive and negative qualities, and both are represented in the interpretations. When you are expressing the negative qualities of your number, it means you are confused. Using the positive qualities can help you get back in balance.

1          You are independent, capable, courageous, daring, creative, forceful, assertive, a person of action. People look to you for leadership. You can be selfish, pushy, impatient, and domineering.

2          You are warm, friendly, willing to help, able to get along with all kinds of people, can fit in anywhere. You instill cooperation in others. You can be indecisive, painfully shy, and needy.

3.         People see you as outgoing, cheerful, and expressive, a talker, active, determined, sociable, and popular. You seem to have no worries. You can be a scatterbrain, disorganized, and ineffective by spreading yourself too thin.

4          You are seen as disciplined, organized, dependable, practical, conservative, thorough, a hard worker. People respect you because they can count on you. Your presence reassures others. You can be narrow-minded, stubborn, inflexible, nervous, close-minded, and difficult to work with.

5          People see you as outgoing, sociable, cheerful, enthusiastic, an adventurer, risk-taker, dynamic, magnetic, attractive, gracious, and carefree. You are the life of the party. You can be seen as loud, boastful, startling, bizarre, and irresponsible.

6          People like to be around you because you project a sense of serenity and harmony. You are outgoing and friendly in a dignified way, even at a party. You make people feel welcome wherever you are. People come to you for advice. You can be a worrier, interfering, overbearing, self righteous, and careless about your appearance and that of your environment.

7          People find you gracious and friendly in a quiet way. You can be reserved and aloof, as well. No matter how engaged you are, you project an impression that you know something no one else does. You can be exclusive, snobbish, judgmental, secretive, and elusive. No one can pin you down.

8          People see you as dynamic, energetic, friendly, persuasive, in charge. You emanate personal power, strength, and success. You automatically assume leadership. You can be abusive, dictatorial, impatient, scornful of others, and boastful about your possessions.

9          You are seen as sincere, friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic, strong, charming, compassionate, and having a magnetic personality. People are drawn to you because they sense you care about them. You can be overly emotional, becoming involved in everyone’s problems because you feel you are responsible for fixing them. You can be irresponsible, indecisive, and ineffective.

11        Others are inspired by you and see you as original, having avant garde opinions, artistic, creative, humanitarian, unique, inventive, idealistic, a dreamer. People are drawn to you and are fascinated by your message.

You can be egotistical, shallow, uninterested in the opinions of others, and an impractical dreamer with your head in the clouds, accomplishing nothing.

22        People see you as a powerful, practical humanitarian who can make dreams come true. Whatever your skills and expertise, you use them to help others and make the world a better place. People trust you and have confidence that you have the highest interests at heart. You can be snobbish and inflexible.

33        People see you as the ultimate giver. You are outgoing, entertaining, dramatic, a lover of children and animals. People are attracted to you because they can feel your kindness, generosity, and genuine caring. You tend to take on the problems of others rather than helping them solve their own. You sacrifice yourself because you don’t understand the difference between being a servant and being of service.

Do You Know Where You Are Going?

This is a rewrite of the original article, which I posted on Monday. My Tuesday writers group had so many insightful suggestions to make it better, I had to do it over. My thanks to them, and I hope you find it more informative than the original.

Many people are living one life and desiring another. Many people are not aware that they have a specific purpose in life. Many people are living someone else’s life instead of their own. Many compare their achievements to outer standards of success and attempt to emulate them instead of listening to their hearts.

Last week, I wrote about your Life Purpose number – the one that shows you what you were born to do with your life. This week, I’m going to talk about your Life Direction number. It’s the number that shows you how you chose to live your purpose.

Your Direction number is calculated from the numbers in your birth date. It’s easy to calculate your Direction number. To show you, I’ll use the birth date 12/24/1942.

The first step is to add each number together and reduce the sum to a single digit:

12: 1 + 2 = 3

24: 2 + 4 = 6

1942: 1 + 9 + 4 + 2 = 16; 1 + 6 = 7.

Now add the three single-digit sums together:

3 + 6 + 7 = 16: 1 + 6 = 7.

Direction number for this birth date is 7.

There isn’t enough room in a blog post to interpret all twelve Direction numbers, but you can find number interpretations on many numerology sites or you can get my book to see the interpretations and to calculate and interpret your entire chart. You can also get free numerology readings online, but none of them I’ve seen use the Chaldean method of calculation, which is the one I use and is accurate, unlike the system most numerologists use.

On the physical plane, your Direction number indicates your most fulfilling profession or lifestyle. You can use this number to guide you in choosing the right career. On a spiritual level, your Direction number reflects the talents and abilities you were born with, and they are expressed in activities you love to do.

For example, if your Direction number is 2, you like to be part of a team, you can get along with almost anyone, you can bring peace and balance into any situation, you are innately psychic, and you are sensitive to the feelings of others. Your profession could be that of a diplomat, an athlete, a member of the medical profession, a counselor, depending on the other numbers that represent your Core Qualities.

Your Direction and Purpose numbers work together to frame your life purpose. For example, using the Direction number of 2 with a Purpose number 8, which deals with physical possessions and management, managing a health-care business could be fulfilling. The 2 in combination with a purpose number of 9, the number of the humanitarian, may indicate international travel as a diplomat or a representative of a humanitarian organization as a career choice.

These number combinations are influenced by the three other numbers representing your core qualities; your Inner Self number, your Outer Self number, and your Midlife Power number, which I will talk about in future articles.

Your life purpose is reflected in the qualities, talents, and preferences that comprise your spiritual makeup, which, in turn, creates your personality. These qualities have been with you since the day you were born. They are part of your innate, subconscious knowledge, and you automatically live by their influence.

Numerology provides a formula that brings this subconscious knowledge to your conscious mind by transforming it into specific information you can easily understand and use in logical, rational ways.

Is your outer life reflecting your inner self? Are your words accurately reflecting your feelings? If so, you are living an authentic life. Pat yourself on the back because you have the commitment to follow your spirit.

If you are not satisfied with the way your life is going, you can change it. The first step is to look inside and get to know yourself. Pay attention to the things you love. If you love gardening, get more involved with it. If you love doing crafts or artwork, make time to do more. If you love taking things apart and putting them back together, follow that passion. If you love helping people, find a way to do that. Do the thing that brings you the most joy.

You are the architect of your life purpose. Deep in your heart you have the answers to all your questions. You already have everything you need to create the life you want. The clues are inside you. Follow your passions. Numerology can help you see clearly the changes you need to make.

Once you make the decision to know yourself and be who you really are, you will attract the right people to help you move forward. You will be attracted to the right information and the right situations to help you unfold your true self. All you need to do is decide.

Your Life Purpose Number

Your Life Purpose number appears at the top of your Chaldean Soul Chart. It shows you the main thrust of your life. Your Life Purpose number is like an overlay that influences all the other numbers in your chart. Its vibration permeates every part of your life. It is the main contributor to your personality type, it reflects the deep longings of your soul, and it is the spontaneous and automatic expression of yourSelf. You automatically express the qualities of this number in everything you do.

Your Life Purpose number is derived from all the letters of the name that appears on your birth certificate. Whether it is spelled correctly or not, this is the name you use to calculate your Life Purpose number.

The interpretation of your Life Purpose number must include the influences of the other numbers in the Core Qualities section of your Chaldean Soul Chart. Each number has its own influence, and all the numbers combine in the unique vibration that is you. It’s like a soup. Even though you can taste the individual ingredients, the combination of those ingredients makes the overall flavor of the soup.

Some people have the ability to trust their intuition and follow their purpose from the day they are born. They are usually supported in this by family, friends, and other influences. These are the people, like Steve Jobs, who always seem to be in the right place at the right time, who are passionate about their focus in life, and who always accomplish their goals. They work hard, they love what they do, and when they meet with a challenge, they never waiver in their purpose. They never give up.

Many people lack this level of focus. Perhaps they lack the self trust to follow their intuition, to listen to their feelings. Perhaps they lack the support they need to ignite the fire of fulfillment. Perhaps part of their purpose is to find their way without much outside help. Perhaps it has never occurred to them that they have a specific purpose in life.

These are the people who can benefit from learning to calculate and interpret their Chaldean Soul Chart. If your experience is more like this, your chart can give you the sense of direction and possibility you are looking for. Your chart confirms what you already know and crystallizes your inner knowing into a clear and simple form you can understand. It’s the how-to book from your soul.

If you are searching for something more in life, I invite you to get my book and give numerology a try. If you are searching for a way to help your children become the best they can be, calculate their Chaldean Soul Charts and create an environment that will support their life purpose. Imagine what life would be like if everyone in your family were acting in support of their own and everyone else’s purpose. Imagine how numerology could help each one understand the other.
